Dr. Heike Hameister

|maintenance history| Focussing on bioinformatics, plant physiology and biochemistry, I graduated at Darmstadt Technical University in 2007. While working in the bioinformatics group of Prof. Dr. Marc-Thorsten Hütt, I wrote my diploma thesis, discussing the "correlation-based signatures of microorganisms".

|key activities| In Decembre 2007 I started my PhD at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in the systemsbiology group of Dr. Oliver Ebenhöh. Research concentration was the procedure of DNA replication, especially the function and the effect of PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen). After two years, I received a Full Postgraduate Studentship of the University of Aberdeen and continued my work in Scotland. The main focus was a model for the chromatin formation after DNA replication. I successfully finished my PhD thesis "Mathematical models for DNA replication machinery" in Physics in the year 2012.

|hobbies| I'm enthusiastic in photography, espcecially in HDR processing to give the pictures a very special atmosphere. You can find some examples on my HDR homepage: HDR-Germany
